I am sure they could find thousands of US citizens to do those jobs at those wages. I know a dozen myself and I’m not even in the tech industry.

It is too bad that Biden will open the floodgates soon as payoff to all the tech titans who contributed to his campaign.

Those numbers sound fishy, and the article’s links are crap.

I refuse to believe that there aren't enough citizens + Green Card holders to properly fill every skilled position. I'm willing to pay a bit more for certain things in exchange for H1-B visas being eliminated.

I’ve seen internally posted job notices for foreign workers at my tech company. $150,000 a year for a 3 year+ role.

No internal application (or even specifics on the jobs).

Just a public notice (around a corner) posted to say that the company will be bringing in 10 or so foreign workers at great salaries.

A tech company I worked for pulled the same crap - to meet the legal posting requirement, they put it in a corner above a copier.

And how much do these companies pay their non-H1B employees? For how many tech workers keep getting fired and training their replacements, how are these companies not able to hire those guys at these wage levels? Hell, I bet most of the unemployed would be willing to work for even less than those numbers...
