Let’s roll back to 1870. Would it even be POSSIBLE to change one’s”gender”, given the medical science of that era? You know the answer. It’s only because of modern medicine that this kind of insanity can survive.

Well, there was Frances Clayton, a woman who disguised herself as a man to fight on the Union side in the Civil War. But I'm pretty sure she didn't take hormones and have her breasts lopped off. She just dressed the part.

Let's roll back to 1870. Would it even be POSSIBLE to change one's”gender”, given the medical science of that era? It was as possible to change your sex (not gender, gender is a language term. The word is SEX) then as it is now.
In other words totally impossible.
They could cut out your sexual organs but it no more "made you" a woman or man then it does today.
You are whatever sex you were before, just with mutilated sexual organs.
Ask any women who has had a hysterectomy if she is now a "man" and she might just slap you.
