I always ask people that accept this nonsense the following, “The late Nobel Prize (in Economics) winning mathematician John F. Nash (See “A Beautiful Mind” book & movie) once self-identified as the Emperor of Antarctica and that penguins would worship him. (Yes that was one of his many delusions. They were far more varied & complex then the movie portrays!). What’s the difference between Nash’s self-identification and say Ellen Page’s self-identification?
The usual response back to me is to get mad at me !
Then loudly say “Its different and you know it is !” Then the name calling commences.

“...At one point, he declined a prestigious appointment to the University of Chicago because he believed that he was in line to become emperor of Antarctica. ...”

It’s in the Sylvia Nasar book also.
Let’s roll back to 1870. Would it even be POSSIBLE to change one’s”gender”, given the medical science of that era? You know the answer. It’s only because of modern medicine that this kind of insanity can survive.
