An overheating world obliterated weather records in 2020, creating an extreme year for hurricanes, wildfires, heat waves, floods, droughts and ice melt, the United Nations’ weather agency reported Wednesday.
While the globe partly shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, extremes linked to human-caused climate change intensified, the World Meteorological Organization said in its State of the Global Climate report. The report kicked off a day when the United Nations pushed for new climate action with two reports and a major speech by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres describing the woeful state of the planet.
The U.N. is ramping up its efforts for a Dec. 12 climate summit in France on the 5th anniversary of the 2015 Paris climate agreement.
The WMO report found that worsening global warming is being seen in all seven key climate indicators, but it said the problem is more than measurements and is increasing human suffering in an already bad year.
This year is set to be about 1.2 degrees Celsius (2.2 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than the last half of the 1800s, which scientists use as a baseline for warming caused by heat-trapping gases from the burning of coal, oil and natural gas.
“There is at least a 1-in-5 chance of it temporarily exceeding 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2024,” WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas said in a statement.
“2020 was a shocking year, not only because of COVID, but also because of the impacts from extreme events we saw,” said Cornell University climate scientist Natalie Mahowald, who wasn’t part of the WMO report.

There is geological evidence that earth’s climate has been all over the place, even before people.

Blah, blah, blah—there is frost on the ground in Central Florida out my window even as I type this. This “Globull warming” stuff is to get people to kowtow and do their bidding. For example: the “stop using paper” movement.
Paper is a renewable source, it’s extremely eco-friendly. Yet ecology crybabies would have you believe that we’re cutting down rainforests to make paper. That’s entirely untrue. You need a homogeneous source of trees for paper mills—not random bushes and shrubs, yet we are constantly told to “stop using paper”. That’s because you have a record of what you signed or get rid of books made of paper. Like they did with fur coats.
Whatever their controlling agenda is, it’s their goal to get people to comply with it. Much like “wear a mask and don’t go out because of Wu-Flu” because they need people to be afraid and mail in those ballots so they can steal elections.
Don’t know about the rest of y’all, but for me, I’m comforted knowing that skipper john f’n kohn-heinz-kerry (who served in VN in case you forgot) may be “Reporting for duty!” as kuhlimate kuhzar to put an end to CLIMAGEDDON!. Pretty sure he has patronizing answers to the following:
1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.
2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.
3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.
4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.
5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.
6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.
7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.
Regardless, it appears that folks like him and the obxxx family have special protections against “the most series problem facing mankind!” They can build/buy at the beach with no fear so.................................

It was so hot people stayed home instead of going to work.
So, extrapolating a tad, lets suppose they continue at that rate? Are we looking at a cooler planet. The seas contain a huge amount of thermal energy. Is the lack of sun spots to blame?? Who knows but since these dopes like Kerry and the climate charlatans cannot explain what is a normal temperature for the planet, I care to not pay them much mind. I found these stats on the site named tropical tidbits which site plots these numbers as they are updated daily.

My, purely anecdotal, observations were that the summer of 2020 was one of the most mild and tolerable summer’s I’ve experienced in my 50+ years.
I picked up cycling to lose weight and get healthy and rode almost every morning. Humidity was high (As always in Arkansas) but the temperatures rarely strayed into the 90’s and when they did, they didn’t stay there long.
Other than the Covid nonsense, it was a great summer.
I swear I’ve heard “We will have more and more powerful Hurricanes” every year since Gore’s idiotic movie came out. This year we had more. For the last 14 years it’s been pretty quiet and when we do have one it’s not all that powerful.
Have they every gone back and said ‘Sorry ‘bout that, we were wrong.’ Nope.
