Delaware County is keeping all information about a recent ransomware attack close to the vest and is still refusing to confirm whether the ransom was paid in full despite media reports saying it was.
“Sources said the county is in the process of paying the $500,000 ransom as it’s insured for such attacks,” an early report from ABC 6 said. ---SNIP--- Hackers seized control of numerous computer networks in the county on Saturday, November 21. The following day, the county issued a press release that only generically described the extent of the attack.

he only way a ransomware attack succeeds is thru an extraordinary level of incompetence by the IT dept. Being a government entity, this is pretty much a given.
A ransom ware attack succeeds only because there are two glaring vulnerabilities. Both vulnerabilities must be present for the attack to work.
1. Crappy security allowing outsiders admin access to servers.
2. Nonexistent data backups or backups not isolated from online access.
The Dems beat them to it...................
Delaware County (run by corrupt democrat criminals and lowlifes) probably paid the ransom and got half of it kicked back.
We know who you are democrats... BLM black criminals, white antifa thugs and white trash with money.
Is that the county where the server shredder truck ended up this week?
Well said!
#5 Like the bank robberies where the news is reported that a million dollars was stolen when it was just a fraction of that and the bank officials get the money.
That gives me an idea - why not fire the FBI and replace them with Insurance investigators? If we did that our 'investigators' would have the smarts and MATH ability to ferret out the voter fraud that's happening in our large cities...
There’s democrat criminals, thugs and commies - then there’s democrat snowflakes and ‘see on evil’ ‘elites’ who want to pretend what’s happening behind the scenes isn’t really happening.
Kind of like the Eloi and the Morlocks. Or the Morlocks and Eloi,,,
Delaware County - another suburban area that used to be solid Republican and has gone to the dark side of the Democrats - sad, sad, sad.....
Sadly, yes. The second I retire I’m leaving Delco.
I left years ago after my tour in the Army - grew up in Swarthmore which, when I left, was still heavily Republican - I was surprised and shocked in 2000 when I took my mother back to see her dentist that there were so many Gore Lieberman signs around - further shocked a few months back when I saw on Philly TV that Swarthmore has apparently become the epicenter for the Democrat organization and operations in the County - I guess that’s what they mean by you can’t go home again......
Insurance investigators would solve all cases as they can get 10% reward like Banacek along with the perks.
