Because I know when I have a theological question my first instinct is to ask a Muslim ..... 🙄
Jesus did not come to bring peace between men. He came to make peace between each man and God.
Seems like a strange argument. Are they saying they're for warfare and violence? And, the implication in this is that Christians "in general" are for peace, which I doubt if you would get anyone to disagree with that.
When we want to know Christian Teaching we will go to professed followers of Jesus Christ, not to followers of Muhammad who have no authority.
Didnt pay attention to Barry, did she...
America is not a Christian nation, he said.
“I did not come to bring peace, but a sword”
Also:
“He that hath no sword, let him sell his cloak, and buy one”
“Sell your cloak and buy a sword”
“The most recent Muslim to take on this mantle of Christian theologian is none other than Somalia-born Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn).”
Other than to add to the other posts that it is absurd to asking a Muslim to opine on Christian theology, let me just say to the good people of Minnesota: Please vote this scum out the next opportunity you have. She is a hateful woman.
My husband yesterday messaged me a song written by a Muslim that mentioned death. I wrote back, “Muslims and death. No surprise there.”
Further: Before 9/11 I didn’t give Muslims a second thought and I don’t think the rest of us did either.
They are the ones who wanted the “publicity” and they sure got it.
“And, the implication in this is that Christians “in general” are for peace, which I doubt if you would get anyone to disagree with that.”
That is true.
St. Thomas recalled that, according to Exodus 22:2, “if a thief be found breaking into a house or undermining it, and be wounded so as to die, he that slew him shall not be guilty of blood.” St. Thomas then commented that, “it is much more lawful to defend one’s life than one’s house. Therefore neither is a man guilty of murder if he kills another in defense of his own life.”
According to St. Thomas Aquinas, “if a man, in self-defense, uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repel force with moderation his defense will be lawful, because according to the jurists (Cap. Significasti. De Homicid. volunt. vel casual.), ‘it is lawful to repel force by force, provided one does not exceed the limits of a blameless defense.’ Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense in order to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one’s life than of another’s.”
That quote goes on to give the point, you cannot serve God and money.
There are all kinds of biblical examples of devout men who were soldiers.
“I did not come to bring peace, but a sword”
Thank you. Our Lord and Saviour did say that.
2 Cor.11:14
or even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Not trying to toss around scripture, but I gotta point out a couple of things. First, Christian community needs to stand up for our faith instead of letting society shape/silence the words of Jesus in John 14:6. “No one comes to the Father except through Him.”
Satan knows scripture better than most of the folks living in the world today in that he uses scripture to deceive, confuse, manipulate. We Christians need to learn and support God's word w/o apologies.
Islam is contrary to Judeo-Christian society. Muslims are not worshiping the same god as the God of the bible and we should not give credence to anything they spew.
They are trying to deceive those who are unaware of the spiritual aspect of world events.
Jesus praised the Roman Centurion for having more faith than anyone else in Israel.
doesnt the koran frown on marrying your brother?
The two things standing in their way of taking us over - our guns and Donald Trump.
Satan and all his children do this...every day.
