Those that bet and lose blame “Vegas” and fail to realize that the spreads are based on equalizing the bets on BOTH sides. Vegas wants to make money either way. If too much is wagered on one side, the “spread” adjusts to get balancing action on the other side. The spread has nothing to do with who will win. It has to do with how many points you have to give to entice gamblers to bet on both sides relatively equally. Those that blame Vegas for a team covering or failing to cover at the last minute are just ticked that they lost.
Officiating sucks. Always has. You might bust an official for gambling, but Vegas isn’t in on some huge conspiracy to bilk “a concerned fan”. Lots of concerned fans WIN money during a wonky cover or no cover.
