Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says public schools will remain open, with a virtual option. He called closing schools for virus mitigation the biggest public health blunder in US history and labeled those who believe schools should close due to COVID surges "today's flat-earthers."

I would vote for him in the next GOP primary based on his stance on school reopenings alone. And I know nothing else about him. This is all I need to know.

I’ve been saying for decades what I just heard a high US Intel guy say: “Send your kid to a government school and in 12 years, they send you back a Marxist!” Colleges today are training the next crop of BLM/ANTIFA radicals! Something better change or we’re doomed!
He’s great. You better believe the teachers union hates him, though, and will do everything possible to bring him down. The left wing union keeps a steady blast of fear porn aimed at their members, so while the schools are open, the teachers are refusing to come back because they’re all gonna die, or something like that.
Curiously, this virus only seems to go after public school teachers and students. The Catholic schools and most of the private schools around me are operating with in-person learning, including recess and games, (although they have to jump through some city health dept hoops). Let’s see...what’s the difference...could it be no unions?
Please don't. We need him here in Florida. He gets one more 6 year term as governor. You all can have him after 2030.
