In order to grasp the magnitude of Fox News’ betrayal of its conservative base, I decided to look back at their ratings in August of 2020 and compare the results with its current viewership as of November 23, 2020. The numbers are devastating and telling. Fox has lost about 50% of its audience. You Trump loyalists are making them pay where it hurts–the pocketbook.
Let me break it down by show:
Neil Cavuto drew 2.192 million viewers in August. By November he was attracting only 1.3 million. The Five also suffered a big loss, going from 3.772 million in August to 2.883 million in November–minus 889,000 viewers. Bret Baier suffered a significant decline of 1,139,000 –3.256 million in August to 2.117 million in November. Martha MacCallum fared worse—she shed 50% of her audience, collapsing from 3.201 million to 1.613 million. Tucker Carlson also has taken a big hit–dropping from 5.719 million in August to 3.444 million in November. That is a drop of 2.275 million. Sean Hannity’s shining star is flaming out. His viewership plummeted from 6.838 million to 2.839 million. That means almost 4 million people fled his show. And Laura Ingraham bled out–she dropped from 4.82 million to 2.114. She lost 2.706 viewers. These are consequential numbers. Fox has committed media suicide.

“Tom Selleck could be ruined.”
He’s worth many, many millions. He and his brother have been commercial real estate developers and agents in LA, since the 80s. Plus, the residuals from “Magnum, PI” and “Blue Bloods” are substantial.
If this is just a standard “post election drop” then why are they suddenly losing to CNN and MSDNC when they had been trouncing them both for years?
Faux news. We collude you deride.
Couldn't agree more.
Levin...ugh!
Hannity has a show? I though all he did was run one big long infomercial.
How to become a millionaire: Start out with a multi-billion dollar media empire and turn it over to your woke children to run.
The loss of viewers is probably of no concern to the Murdoch brothers. After all, they and their wives will still get invited to all the A-list Christmas parties. That is concern numero one to the wives. Why are wives so powerful? They own half of the money and all of the other stuff.
I turned off FOX for the most part when Donna Brazile came on board. I haven’t had any of it on since bleu dress Martha on election night. Happy to see that she has had the biggest wipe out.
I think Hannity finally got his BOOM! A bit like Wile E. Cayote, but I rate it a BOOM! nevertheless.
Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the ratings of political shows go up in the month or two before conventions go up as people who aren't as engaged in politics as us freepers start paying attention. And I'm not surprised that after Trump losing, people became disheartened and stopped watching political shows. That was my response when Obama won the first time - I took a break from politics for a few months - and it had nothing to do with Fox.
Just close the lid and stop watching...
Numbers are just back to “normal”.
BOR was the king of nightly news shows with 3M viewers.
Trump has not lost, and will not lose.
Fox ad rates for Oct Nov and Dec 2020 were set in Aug 2020 based on audience delivery guarantees. Not in 2019 or 2016.
As a result of Fox losing 50% of their audience, they are being forced to refund their contracted advertisers 50% of the ad costs or give them free ad spots to make up for the missing viewers.
Additionaly, they are being forced to cut their ad costs by 50% starting tomorrow.
It’s clear that you don’t understand the financial disaster that has hit Fox on the ad sales front.
See post 36.
Stopped listening to Hannity years ago. His radio show was consistently Rush redux.
Then on TV, his constant “BOOM” news always about to drop became such a joke after awhile. And as many have stated, his insessant interruptions/talking over guests became way too annoying to listen to after awhile.
I love the headline ... if it’s really true to that magnitude, so much the better.
FOX is “dead” in our house & will not be resurrected. Not watching anything, including Tucker, Hannity, Ingraham. News Max is the replacement because we can get it on our cable packaga. As for cable, as soon as a 98 yo low tech (knows where all the channels are, etc.) member of the family who can’t do much except watch TV no longer needs it, it will be gone too.
