NEW DELHI: With an eye firmly on China, India has assured Vietnam of all possible help in modernizing its armed forces, including weapon supplies, training of its fighter pilots and submariners, and enhancing its maritime capabilities.
The two countries also decided to come out with a new five-year “joint vision statement” next year to build on the earlier one during talks between defense minister Rajnath Singh and his counterpart General Ngo Xuan Lich through video-conferencing on Friday.
In the backdrop of defence cooperation being a vital component of the “comprehensive strategic partnership” between the two countries, which are wary of China’s aggressive behavior in the Asia-Pacific region, India has also earlier offered the BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles as well as the Akash surface-to-air missile defense systems to Vietnam, as was reported by TOI.
Officials on Friday said India “remains resolved to capability-building and enhancement” of the Vietnamese armed forces, in addition to extending Line of Credit arrangements to the country. “India sees Vietnam as a friendly foreign country with shared concerns and common interests,” said an official.

This is good for both India and Việt Nam. If Biden is installed in January the main backup or Asian nations is gone. China moves in openly and massively and unopposed-by-America in the East Sea and cuts off the sea lanes as well as imposing an implicit blockade on Việt Nam and even Indonesia. India will quickly be at real war with China in the north with nukes threatened or used.
When my Windows 7 system failed to activate in spite of me having install CD’s in my possession. I was on phone with Microsoft for many hours but no dice. Those people at Microsoft spoke with American accent so I assumed they must be local. I actually asked them where are they stationed and it was in Texas somewhere. Finally they said they were out of ideas and they would forward my problem to people who can solve my problem. My phone call then gets forwarded to some guy in New Delhi. The techie asked me permission if he could take control of my computer. I of course said yes because I needed my desktop running again. To make long story short, that man in New Delhi installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 on my computer and sent me an email with a new product key to use. And he even activated the copy of Windows on my desktop.
Take your Indian lies, bull crap and garbage elsewhere. May we suggest back to India?
I’ve had a couple of similar experiences with Indians accessing control of my computer, and all very successful and professionally done.
What I learned though, is that a hacker can accomplish the same thing without permission, and do just about anything they want anyone knowing it.
There is nothing secure about our digital age.
That’s a can of worms. Best let the Indians do it. Actually, it’s sorta nice to see someone else step up to the plate.
Heaven forbid Biden actually swindling his way into the White House, but if that does happen, he will take China’s side. I suspect a Biden regime’s action will be no action, just let China do as it pleases.

That depends on how you define security. Nothing digital is secure. Apparently you have not read the numerous threads on FR or read Snowden’s comments regarding government cell phone surveillance.
Whether it be cell phones, computers, home security systems, it does not matter as all of it can be hacked. The latest craze in security is a VPN. By now there are those that have figured out a way around it. Once that becomes obvious there will be another security tool to be sold.
I have been trading stocks on internet for 25 years, hundred thousand or more transactions in 25 years, and transfering money from bank to broker hundreds of times. Never even close to being hacked. My method of preventing hacking and malware is so simple, it is hilariously ridiculous.

Replacement with our own Consitution is not an easy thing to do. One couldn’t do that even in France. England possibly but only if Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were reconstituted as nearly independent states with our own style of Congress/President or king or whatever name in London. Trying to make a representative republic out of a collection of provinces won’t work.
The only long term successful republics in the last 1500 years have been the USA and Switzerland which share one enabling characteristic. Both were settled by individuals who emigrated from long established societies with family rule and family loyalties being foundational to new land abandoning family ties so that they were in fact Individuals acting as individuals. The cantons in Switzerland are more autonomous than the States in the USA today and that has been true at least since America saddled itself with the 16th, 17th, and 19th Amendments. Giving women the vote in Switzerland put Switzerland on the path to centralization just as it did America. It will be less rapid because they have not adopted the organizational centralization implicit in the 16th and 17th.
