“...any other manner prescribed by the law of the state in which the sentence was imposed.”

Interesting that a federal execution, prescribed by federal law and a federal judge, is placed at the determination of a state. What do they do if there is no capitol punishment in the state involved? Can this lead to a stay of execution and providing a life sentence with possibility of parole?

Twenty two states do not have capitol punishment already. Could this be the fore runner to a state lead challenge to ban it since, at the moment, it appears we are going to have a wussy president in office. As late as 2019, Biden opposed capital punishment. Biden supports legislation to eliminate the capital punishment at the federal level, and incentivize states to abolish capital punishment.

I’m a little confused here. Biden said that he wants to build on the progress made by the Affordable Care Act, which covers access to preventive care and contraceptives. (Abortion) And according to his plan, Biden supports repealing the amendment, the Hyde Amendment, that has blocked public funding of abortion under Medicaid, except in cases of incest or rape, or if the pregnancy is a danger to the mother’s life, according to the Keiser Family Foundation. So not only does he support abortion, but supports the public paying for it, for any reason at any time.

How can you repeal death for a criminal but support the execution of unborn children? The liberals need to answer that if this happens since it is going to be paid for by the taxpayer. But there, first, has to be a member of the GOP to be forward enough to ask it, and demand an answer. I don’t know of anyone right now that has the intestinal fortitude.

"My point is Hollywood has made countless movies about shocking people with a car battery or even killing them. This shows the blatant ignorance of the lefty writer/director/actors of simple everyday life.

To go on even a further tangent, same thing with fire sprinklers where the movies have perpetuated the myth that when one head goes off, every head in the building goes off. And, no, you don't initiate fire sprinklers by pulling a fire alarm pull station.

If I were a dirty politician or a tech giant I would be rather uncomfortable about this “minor change” in execution laws having just taken part in a massive coup attempt.

Dead is dead, but firing squads are much more efficient when you have waiting lines of traitors.

"Firing squad, quick, painless, sends a very effective message to others. Make it the primary means of execution."

Some would argue that, with it's military roots, a firing squad is actually a more honorable form of execution. There have been some condemned that have actually requested (and were granted) a firing squad in lieu of lethal injection.

We agree on that, and of course, a 115 lb female can beat up 225 lb juiced up executive security men...

The more I read about Edison the more I see and agree with your description especially his public stunts with animals.....awful person and poor Tesla didn’t win his court case until after he died. No telling how many more people Edison scammed in his lifetime.......

Lethal injection was chosen because it perpetrates the fiction that the prisoner is just peacefully going to sleep.

The firing squad is much more straightforward. It doesn’t hide the reality of what is happening.

If the state chooses to execute, then it should just do it and not pretend it’s giving the prisoner a sleeping pill.

Executions were done publicly for a reason.

“New rule could allow gas, firing squads for US executions”

Rope is cheap, plentiful, and has a long service life.

Hollywood phonyism started way way back in the cowboy movies with the crooks shooting a padlock open on the stage coaches strong box.

As a black powder gun enthusiast, I know the bullet will shatter into tiny fragments once it hits steel, or at least ricochet. Having fired such bullets into thin metal steel, such as a padlock, the bullets will not penetrate, but rather dent it.

My point is, if any idiot ever shot into a padlock with a soft bullet two things would happen. One the padlock would be damaged to the point it will never open again with a key. The other is the idiot doing the shooting would have multiple lead fragments in his feet.

I could go on and on about Hollywoodisms.

My most hated one is what I call Faggy Cuts. This is when a young boy has a hair length and style that makes him look like a cute little girl, when in fact young boys have not had hair styles like that en masse for decades.

Historically, that has not worked out well, not even here in the States.

Citizenry and Police should be armed to protect themselves and others. Killing to defend oneself or others is a very different matter. Giving the government power to kill its enemies is dangerous.

Just imagine the Left taking total power, something they are just weeks away from doing. They will want to kill us en masse. That might be difficult for them, since most of us are armed, but that is what they have done historically.

He had stray dogs rounded up and publicly electrocuted. Even did an elephant once. Total dick...

Agree.

IIRC the elephant was named Topsy.

He was a master of PR and was able to deceive the public and the media.

A horrible man.

Remember the way they killed I think they called it the eagle killing the slit open the rib cage and pulled it apart while the victim was alive.

Personally, I believe that we made a huge mistake when we stopped using HANGING as the sole federal method of execution.

TEXAS may well return to HANGING soon, given the KNOWN & SERIOUS PROBLEMS with “the needle” & the difficulty in purchasing the usual drugs.

They don’t have enough NASCAR garage doors in All States to hold the rope door pulls. And it would upset blubba the Half-Breed.
