I’m finding this pandemic Thanksgiving can actually put a nice new twist on some family traditions that perhaps had gotten a bit stale.

For example: our tradition for 50 years was to have lasagna and Ceasar salad the Wed night before Thanksgiving at my mom’s house. A cherished and much loved tradition.

This year we moved it to my house with a larger backyard and a huge fire pit—we’re in CA so this worked—and it was the most fun ever. A new twist on things, lots of wine, and new appreciation for our togetherness and being with friends and family.

The same tradition—with the same # of guests—but we did move it outside due to the presence of several 75+ year old guests. Lots of fun, it turned out to be.

Looking forward to even more guests, outside, tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Should be sunny and 64 degrees at 2 pm, and with a firepit should work out fine in these pandemic times.

We have much to be thankful for.

It’s in the 40’s and raining here.

Wish we could do it outside.
