That’s how it worked in our TN precinct, too. Why weren’t the votes recorded WHEN you voted? That’s how it used to work. Seems like a lot of unnecessary fol-de-rol, and opportunity for weird stuff to happen.

Same thing here in TX... got a printout at the machine which was then processed by a scanner.

I suspect a reason for this is to have a hard copy of the votes in case a recount is needed. Of course, paper can be misplaced, just as an electronic device can be manipulated.

I take the PA hearing very seriously, and I would not assume that the PA SOS numbers are correct. Still, I hope somebody posts a link to the real numbers to show that PA received 700K more mail in ballots than the number of ballots sent out. I can't hear the audio on your youtube link. NOTE: At 45:00 in my link Giuliani talks about these numbers but says the PA govt website removed those numbers on Tuesday.

I always worried about the possibility of internet connectivity and hacking, but I didn’t have much choice if I wanted to vote in person.

As it was, it seemed a lot less complicated - why not one machine?
