I don't think this is act of eminent domain. But the rest of your comments appears to be solid.

There was an injustice in history to newly freed blacks who received land and equipment as part of the "40 acres and a mule" reparations after the War between the States. They were not educated nor sophisticated, they were hoodwinked, duped, deceived, defrauded by others into giving up their newly acquired land. Newly freed blacks were too trusting of lies told to them and they were taken advantage of.

Hundreds of thousands of acres of coastal land in the South had been seized and confiscated from disloyal Southerners. Land titles were transferred to freed blacks who were mostly uneducated. Southerners were incensed and they acted out to burn, murder, lie to blacks to take the land back.

I can see arguments for tracing the descendants of such freed slaves and granting them recompense. But I don't think that was done here. I don't see a case being made. I see only a wish list based on vague reasons. If I am missing something, let me know please.

I would rather see a continuation of President Trump's business training and startup grant program funding because learning to be self-sufficient and run a business is far more valuable that rural undeveloped land which comes with tax consequences and development costs. Under Trump, Blacks are excelling at becoming successful in business on a general level, not just sport star athletes or an Oprah one-off but in their general population.

Let’s see... I live in east central Indiana farm country and I have yet to see a black farmer...Amish, yes, women, yes... black, no

Same in SE Oklahoma.... only without the Amish.... Black people don't want farms. They want televisions, Nikes, and NBA season tickets.

Field Order 15 was in January 1865 and made in Savannah, GA by Union General Wiliam Sherman. It has NO— ZERO legal authority behind it except the temporary presence of the Union Army. It was one of the many things Sherman did- that was reversed within the year of 1865. There was never a law passed to support this— nor any.. any funds provided as a result.

After Lincoln was killed, President Andrew Johnson issued a proclamation that returned the lands to southern owners that took a loyalty oath. The lands never had TITLE transfer in any of the areas where the “order” was attempted- and any subplatted land as a result, was reversed. The plats of these lands do not exist, nor the Titles. The lands were never legally taken, and were returned by the US Federal government to the owners, who still held Legal Title. Sherman never had the power to do any of this, fact is. And is very much misunderstood— as you have exhibited, and describe it as an injustice. Yes, it was an injustice-—to the Titled property owners. Abraham Lincoln was President at the time— and he did NOT command or authorize Sherman to do this, in the first place.

Booker has ZERO basis for this stupid bill— which is Marxist re-distribution at the LEAST. Very interesting you think this was an “injustice” to newly freed blacks who received... NOTHING!

Would you like to see the ridiculous bleating for the benefit of his political thieving pals of the Radical Republicans (who were to be the primary beneficiaries of the illegal order— carpetbaggers as they were with no legal right to any of this)?

The largely uninformed on this thread should READ the order —composed entirely by General Sherman, not under any orders to do so, and completely as his own volition dictated, and who had no legal basis for making such an order- and the order was never carried out, and reversed by Presidential Order. Checkout the wording of this. And then try to glean what Booker thinks land should be redistributed— what, like IOWA corn cooperatives and private lands. Gonna have the Reconciliation Committee decide and dilineate who is “deserving” of this THEFT? Communist bastard- who thinks he is empowered. No better explanation of the morons behind this. It. Will. Not. Happen.

Special Field Orders No. 15.

Headquarters Military Division of the Mississippi,
In the Field, Savannah, Ga., January 16, 1865.

I. The islands from Charleston south, the abandoned rice-fields along the rivers for thirty miles back from the sea, and the country bordering the Saint Johns River, Fla., are reserved and set apart for the settlement of the BLACKS now made free by the acts of war and the proclamation of the President of the United States.

II. At Beaufort, Hilton Head, Savannah, Fernandina, Saint Augustine, and Jacksonville the blacks may remain in their chosen or accustomed vocations; but on the islands, and in the settlements hereafter to be established, NO WHITE PERSON WHATEVER, unless military officers and soldiers detailed for duty, will be permitted to reside; and the sole and exclusive management of affairs will be left to the freed people themselves, subject only to the United States military authority and the acts of Congress. By the laws of war and orders of the President of the United States the negro is free, and must be dealt with as such. He cannot be subjected to conscription or forced military service, save by the written orders of the highest military authority of the Department, under such regulations as the President or Congress may prescribe; domestic servants, blacksmiths, carpenters, and other mechanics will be free to select their own work and residence, but the young and able-bodied negroes must be encouraged to enlist as soldiers in the service of the United States, to contribute their share toward maintaining their own freedom and securing their rights as citizens of the United States. Negroes so enlisted will be organized into companies, battalions, and regiments, under the orders of the United States military authorities, and will be paid, fed, and clothed according to law. The bounties paid on enlistment may, with the consent of the recruit, go to assist his family and settlement in procuring agricultural implements, seed, tools, boats, clothing, and other articles necessary for their livelihood.

III. Whenever three respectable negroes, heads of families, shall desire to settle on land, and shall have selected for that purpose an island, or a locality clearly defined within the limits above designated, the inspector of settlements and plantations will himself, or by such sub-ordinate officer as he may appoint, give them a license to settle such island or district, and afford them such assistance as he can to enable them to establish a peaceable agricultural settlement. The three parties named will subdivide the land, under the supervision of the inspector, among themselves and such others as may choose to settle near them, so that each family shall have a plot of not more than forty acres of tillable ground, and when it borders on some water channel with not more than 800 feet water front, in the possession of which land the military authorities will afford them protection until such time as they can protect themselves or until Congress shall regulate their title. The quartermaster may, on the requisition of the inspector of settlements and plantations, place at the disposal of the inspector one or more of the captured steamers to ply between the settlements and one or more of the commercial points, heretofore named in orders, to afford the settlers the opportunity to supply their necessary wants and to sell the products of their land and labor.

IV. Whenever a negro has enlisted in the military service of the United States he may locate his family in any one of the settlements at pleasure and acquire a homestead and all other rights and privileges of a settler as though present in person. In like manner negroes may settle their families and engage on board the gunboats, or in fishing, or in the navigation of the inland waters, without losing any claim to land or other advantages derived from this system. But no one, unless an actual settler as above defined, or unless absent on Government service, will be entitled to claim any right to land or property in any settlement by virtue of these orders.

V. In order to carry out this system of settlement a general officer will be detailed as inspector of settlements and plantations, whose duty it shall be to visit the settlements, to regulate their police and general management, and who will furnish personally to each head of a family, subject to the approval of the President of the United States, a possessory title in writing, giving as near as possible the description of boundaries, and who shall adjust all claims or conflicts that may arise under the same, subject to the like approval, treating such titles altogether as possessory. The same general officer will also be charged with the enlistment and organization of the negro recruits and protecting their interests while absent from their settlements, and will be governed by the rules and regulations prescribed by the War Department for such purpose.

VI. Brig. Gen. R. Saxton is hereby appointed inspector of settlements and plantations and will at once enter on the performance of his duties. No change is intended or desired in the settlement now on Beaufort Island, nor will any rights to property heretofore acquired be affected thereby.

By order of Maj. Gen. W. T. Sherman:

L. N. DAYTON, Assistant Adjutant-General.
— William T. Sherman, Military Division of the Mississippi; 1865 series - Special Field Order 15, January 16, 1865.

I don’t care for Booker and I don’t care for your history arguments whether accurate or not. Whether it’s misunderstood or not, it doesn’t change the fact that there was gross injustice carried out over generations. War is effing Hell on Earth and what Sherman did, authorized or not, was punishment to traitors in the South who deserved every bit of it.

The fact you are here arguing it like you effing know something about it as if it happened yesterday is a blight on this forum. It’s over, deal with it.

You may not realize it but carrying on the way you do puts you in the same character category as dumbass Booker. Think about it and surprise me with a humble apology because that would show humanity which apparently your daddy failed to beat into you.

It’s not about ‘farming’. It’s about democrats keeping blacks on the democrat plantation by teaching them to covet their neighbors lives.

Obama didn’t do crap for the black community - besides ‘empathizing’ with them - and throwing nonstop pity parties for them and a few new community centers. It was Trump who offered the dignity of real jobs... When Obama got some money he moved to white world like other ‘elites’ ... where it’s safe to call for de-funding cops...

Taking land from white farmers worked in African counties because it caused great conflict... and starvation. That’s what Booker wants... lots of misery and ginned up hatred to keep the votes flowing in ... for doing nothing other than causing pain.

Well— now am really shaking, grasping for the needed “cleansing” of a “humble apology” for stating facts. FACTS are sticky commodities, and an unfortunate component of rational thought. Not for defenders and “recompensers” of Reparations, decided by neo-Marxist obamaumao-ist Booker and Fauxcahontas Warren. It is concerning that a presumably reasoned individual could be so delusional as to not care for history, which is FACT. Must be terrible to have such pretzel logic.

Let’s be real, the “Black Farmers” that already farm are the only Blacks that would grow crops. We can’t get the others to do all most any job; Not counting those that already have a job.

The 14th Amendment? We already allowed feminists to blow through that constitutional fence with many laws including the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA, also a Second Amendment violation).

"The fund devotes $8 billion annually to the project and aims to make 20,000 grants each year of up to 160 acres through 2030."

"20,000 grants each year." Okay, I see. Global plutocrats are contributing dark money in this case to replace *all* white farmers with blacks. Spoiled brats.

Remember to blame them instead of the people they're trying to pit you against. Keep your eye on those global oligarchs.
