The Chinese who have moved to Formosa over the past several hundred years have enacted a racial/cultural cleansing of the natives similar to that which happened to the natives here. It is culturally and politically Chinese. There is a reason why Cash-my-check declared it the “Republic of China.”

None of this changes the fact that the so called “anti-communist” Taiwanese in Queens, NY and the San Gabriel valley are big time Dem voters and have been since the 90s. I guess keeping Taiwan in the current state prevents further immigration is the best thing out of this.
