He ‘s talked about running against Romney in ‘24.
IF Utah recalls Romney NOW-—Baio can replace him sooner.
There never has been a US Senator recalled, at least since 17th was passed. It’s been tried (eg. on McCain) but never got far enough to prove whether or not it was constitutional at the federal level even in jurisdictions where it was arguably constitutional at the state level. Not saying it’s not worth trying, just pointing out potential problems. Utah has relatively small state and a politically unusual one. Not sure what the chances would be. Romney is to the left of the state, but his LDS ties are solid.
