Teen arrested in Wisconsin mall shooting that wounded 8

A 15-year-old boy is among those arrested in connection with Friday’s shooting at a Wisconsin mall that sent eight people to the hospital, police in the Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa said Sunday.

The suspect was arrested Saturday night, Police Chief Barry Weber said at a news conference, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

He said that an altercation between two groups at the Mayfair Mall led to the Friday afternoon shooting. Police had been hunting for the gunman since then.

“We do know there was some sort of altercation, and that’s when the bullets started flying,” Weber said during a Sunday news conference.

Dozens of cops responded to the active shooter report at Mayfair Mall around 3 p.m. local time in the west Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa.

Since he is 15, he is for now to be treated as a juvenile. That means neither his identity or criminal record will not be released. Depending on Wisconsin law and possibly the local prosecutor, he may be treated as an adult or a juvenile. I doubt he will have to serve very much time. I also doubt that Wisconsin prosecutors will go after whoever supplied him with a firearm, but I’m becoming more cynical as 2020 progresses.

I’m just guessing, but I think this might have been some sort of racial thing between some Hispanic and black teens. I say Hispanic only because one report said that this kid is Hispanic. I say black, because they are usually the ones involved in this sort of thing. Probably not a gang thing, but maybe arguing about girls, racial slurs got added in, and it went from there.
