RAND PAUL Backs President Trump Legal Challenges: "This is a normal function of how elections are"
radionb ^ | Nov 21 | Sen. Rand Paul

Host: "Where do you stand on where we are 2 weeks after the election?"

Rand Paul:"There are laws on the books we’ve had for a long time on how we look at very close elections whether or not we do recounts whether or not there are hand recounts or whether we look at ballots and I think we should let President Trump go all of those avenues and figure out whether votes were legally cast.

The people who say he should not do that are really ignoring one incredible fact. In the past we’ve had 1% or less absentee through the mail votes now we have some jurisdictions where it is between 30-50% so we’re talking millions of ballots. I think they should be authenticated you should sign your ballot there should be proof its postmarked before the election and we should look at anything suspicious like either tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of ballots all coming in at once from one source whether they had a postmark there are all kinds of things that should be checked and I think the President and 71 million Americans who supported the President deserve to know that.

I mean it is kind of mind boggling when you see the President going round the county having rallies of 20,000 and you never saw more than 25 to 50 people at a Biden rally so you wonder where these 75 million people came from.. there seems to be little enthusiasm for the Biden ticket but be that as it may what I’ve suggested we do a random sample. In science if you take a random sample of 2 million votes in Philadelphia and you examine them closely call the people and ask them if they voted for 2000 it’s probably a big enough sample to extrapolate to the 2 million and say well if we checked 2000 people and only 10 of them were illegal that’s probably not enough to change the election but if we check 2000 people and we found 80 fraudulent votes boy you apply that to the whole and its enough to affect the outcome of the election. So, I think that’s what we need to do if there’s enough illegal or improper votes out there and the media just simply dismisses this and they just say “oh, no evidence” well you don’t have evidence until you look for evidence . Evidence doesn’t just miraculously appear without looking for it so yeah, I think the President should be able to explore all legal opportunities and this is a normal function of how elections are. My dad had a contested election in 1976 that went to the courts for a month or two."

Totally predictable—the clean politicians support due process.

The dirty politicians want the President to concede so their scummy secrets won’t get released.

Rand is not a Bush League Republican.

This situation is going to be revealing.

Are we keeping a list?

As a candidate and citizen of this country, President Trump has the right to seek redress in court if he feels that he has been wronged. More than that, if he feels that he was cheated in an illegal conspiracy to defraud the American voters, President Trump has an obligation to pursue the issue. Failure to do so would be gross dereliction of his duty as POTUS.

The White House needs to get this message out consistently.

An obvious position as far as I’m concerned.

I’m pretty tough on Rand Paul as a general rule.

Here I think he’s right on track, where he should be.

Contrast him to Pierre Dilecto.
