Someone here went to School with him. Said that appointment was a trade deal. DOnt remember details.

That Judge is Right leaning as per the poster here. He posted yesterday.

DIdnt say what version of school..High School or Law School

Appears to me the poster is a lawyer

SO dont necessarily write off the Judge as an Obama stoolie

I don’t know what the other poster said, but I believe it was a matter of Obama putting up a Republican judge nominee (this guy) to also get his preferred Democratic nominee through the Senate with no issues. They were both nominated on the same day.

‘Twas I who has his classmate at the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, PA. He wasn’t my friend, but not my rival either. He was a Reagan-Bush Republican. I suspect that he wound up at Dickinson as a back up when he didn’t get in a more prestigious law school. He was a bit of an upper class snob from NY. Sen. Toomey picked him for this seat, so Obama nominated him as part of some deal. Considering that Toomey oppossed Trump’s refusal to concede, it’s not that surprising that this judge didn’t find Trump’s arguments persuasive. Many Republican judges don’t like civil rights cases, and he is no different in that regard.

In fairness, what is happening is unprecedent in the scope of the fraud and the remedy is drastic. This will go up to SCOTUS, and at least Judge Brann didn’t do anything to obstruct appelate review. (I still need to read his opinion.) This isn’t over yet.

According to Newsmax, the Trump campaign’s appeal will focus on Judge Brann’s refusal to accept the second amended complaint:

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/election-2020-pennsylvania-trump/2020/11/22/id/998252/?oRef=mixi

If he truly didn’t understand the claims made in complaint, and the plaintiffs’ injury, then he should have given them leave to amend the complaint, rather than dismiss it with prejudice.
