It was the percent of votes (Trump - Biden / Trump) on the y axis. The x axis had straight ticket percentage. Their assumption was the non-straight-ticket voters should behave exactly like the straight ticket voters (horizontal line). That's an incorrect assumption.

No, the assumption is if split ticket voters voted Biden over Trump, it would be a constant percentage from precinct to precinct. IF 10% of the Republicans in precinct x voted for Biden, then on average, 10% of the voters in precinct y and z would vote for Biden.
What the graph showed was that the more Republican the precinct, overall, the LARGER PERCENTAGE of Republicans voted for Biden over Trump. That defies logic and reason.
There is no reason for the greater percentage of Pro Trump Precincts to have a higher PERCENTAGE of Biden voters.
