At the risk of attracting scorn I will say that I believe masks kind of do work. As a person who is susceptible to upper respiratory viruses I have often been tempted in the past to wear a mask to the store during cold and flu season. I don’t want to catch anything including covid. BUT, masks should be a personal choice. It’s supposed to be a free country.
The only benefit I can see to the masks is if someone coughs or sneezes, it prevents them from spreading as far as they might otherwise, and MAYBE lessen how much gets into the air.
Otherwise, I don’t see them doing any good.
Yes...Masks SHOULD be personal choice...right now mask Nazis are the problem
You can believe that masks help, but they don’t.
I’ll bet...
You don’t store your mask in a paper bag or sterile container
You don’t wash your hands and put gloves on to put on your mask.
You touch your mask with unsterile hands to adjust the fit or clear fogged up glasses
You don’t wash your hands, put on gloves and remove your mask while placing it in a paper bag or sterile container.
You don’t sterilize the mask with Virex, ozone or UV light after each use or 20-30 minutes usage (manufacturers recommendation).
If you touch the mask without gloves on the inside you still use the contaminated mask, now in contact with your mouth, nose and eyes, you don’t destroy the mask.
But if it makes you feel safe, that’s a good thing.
Consider that 85% of people who have gotten COVID-19 faithfully wore masks.

What bothers me about mask orders is that states never tell people to wash their masks at least once daily, or to consider taking vitamins D3 and C to fight COVID-19 and flu in my non-medical opinion.
The question is, are masks actually helping to spread the virus?

If you’re susceptible to upper respiratory infections, do you really think it’s a good idea to wear a petri dish right over your face and nose?
