Professor Daniel Ravicher of the University of Miami Law School says that he may be fired over pro-Trump social media posts that he published in the days following the presidential election. The dean of the law school reportedly told Ravicher that he must apologize and retract his comments if he wants to return to teach in the spring.

According to a report by the College Fix, University of Miami Law School Professor Daniel Ravicher may be fired over a series of social media posts that he published after the election.

“Heading to Walmart to get what I need to protect my family from ‘peaceful protesters’ who can’t accept the result of an election,” Ravicher wrote in one tweet that angered law school administrators.

In another tweet, Ravicher questioned the integrity of the presidential election. “The same people who couldn’t distinguish between legal and illegal immigration now can’t distinguish between legal and illegal votes. Not all votes are legal. Deceased votes, double votes, late votes, fraud votes, are all illegal,” Ravicher wrote.

Ravicher claims now that he might be fired over his tweets. During an email exchange, law school dean Anthony Varona urged Ravicher to apologize for his remarks.

Well, he ought to know the law. So he should be aware he has a very good chance of winning a lawsuit.

Why is it that in the past it has been impossible to remove tenured liberal professors for far worse language and indiscretion yet a conservative professor makes a few innocuous posts and he’s on the fast track to unemployment?

Oh wait, silly question.....

The resignation and “suicide” of very outspoken conservative UNC Wilmington professor this year demonstrates the left will not tolerate dissent on college faculties. Also look at how an anti Biden post turned out for a dean at Virginia Wesleyan University a couple of weeks ago.

I admire these few professors for speaking out but they are not being supported by other faculty member or wealthy alumni donors. Nor is there any expression of outrage by GOP politicians in the state, much less the media.

Without outside support, outspoken conservative academics are crushed. As long as the alumni, federal, and state funds continue to flow, the leftists who control the administrations of our universities will continue to suppress freedom on campuses.

I read the Breitbart article and it doesn’t mention if this professor is tenured or not. Is he?

honestly? I dunno but social media has been a disaster for so many people.

Yes it gets our side to get our grievances heard but they are shutting down our side.

It’s an easy way for antifa/blm to coordinate their nefarious activities..

countless people have been robbed/killed/God knows what else...kids have been lured by freaks...

Actual talking is no longer a primary means of communication among the young.

But it helps Trump speak to 80 million people with a tweet.

And FR is on it.

So just forget this whole post i’m going back to bed :)

More evidence of the foothold in the belly of academia in perhaps the most important area of education. More evidence of how leftism has completed “the slow march through the institutions”. Either the dean is attempting to stave off the leftist alumni donating class or he is on board with depriving those under his control with a different political viewpoint from exercising their free speech. Really is a fantastic reinterpretation of constitutional law. Be afraid.

Hopefully, he knows a good attorney.

Sydney Powell and Lin Wood are tied up right now.

I was also wondering about tenure. If he is tenured, I don’t believe he can just be fired outright. There will have to be endless committees convened to end his tenure. If he is an adjunct (temporary) professor, then it is easy not to re-hire him. If he is tenure track, then I wish him well.
