Rand Paul bashes his ‘Twitter haters,’ touts natural immunity over COVID-19 vaccine

Sen. Rand Paul called out his “haters” Wednesday after he drew social media criticism for saying that contracting COVID-19 led people to have greater immunity than a vaccine would.

“Why does the left accept immune theory when it comes to vaccines, but not when discussing naturally acquired immunity?” Paul asked in a tweet Tuesday. The tweet was preceded by another social media post in which he said natural immunity to COVID-19 was “99.9982% percent effective.”

“Sad that Twitter haters argue that accepting the science of immunity means a person lacks compassion,” Paul said. “I have friends who are seriously ill & hope & pray for their recovery. Perhaps the haters could simply examine the evidence of immunity & not immediately devolve into ad hominem.”

Paul’s tweets came in reaction to Pfizer and Moderna reports that their vaccines were around 95 percent effective. Both vaccines are in trials, though Pfizer announced Wednesday it would ask the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization within days.

Paul had COVID-19 in March and has since argued that people who recovered from the virus should throw away their masks. He has also said recovered COVID-19 patients should serve senior citizens at restaurants.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top U.S. infectious disease expert, criticized Paul’s assertions about herd immunity and COVID-19 back in September when Paul suggested to Fauci that New York city had reached herd immunity.

Rand is an eye doctor.

Perhaps he can explain why, after so many years, there is no “herd immunity” for any other human coronavirus (OC43, HKU1, 229E and NL63).

Smallpox and polio were eliminated, by vaccinations, but there were already a number of “natural immunes” out there before the vaccines were developed. Polio affected many more persons than was originally estimated, and only a small minority of cases were disabling and/or life-threatening. This was evidenced by the presence of anti-polio antibodies in a blood fraction, gamma globulin, which also contains antibodies for a great number of other infection diseases, and is used in concentrated purposes for therapeutic purposes in treatment of those diseases.

Smallpox was genetically closely related to another rather innocuous disease, cowpox, which was frequently contracted by persons who milked cows by hand. Cowpox left large pustules on the hands, which soon dried away, but left the patient who went through the infection with a lifetime immunity to smallpox. It was from this discovery that the term “vaccination” came about, which means “from the cow”.

Look it up.

Not all the vaccines contain fetal cells.

How do you think humans are still here after thousands of years of plague and pestilence? Only the strong survive.

At age 80 I have not stipped enjoying any activities, including cruise on fully sold out Carnival cruise this year, weekly dining in the lorida fabulous sea food restaurants along the beach in St Augustine (yes Florida is wide open), flights to Seattle to visit daughters, 100+ visits to stores this year, daily visits to gym, and escort my wife to cancer clinic every 3 weeks for chemo treatments.

Point is I am living a life opposite of staying locked up at home. It must be natural immunity acquired from infection on the cruise, my athletic body with daily gym fought it off with mild symptoms and gave me gift of natural immunity

Those viruses mutate faster.

Immunity is medically defined as “highly resistant.” WHO says around 1,000,000,000 have or already had it. Fine me 100 who got it again (symptomatic twice).

You. Can’t. Not even 1 in 10,000,000 got it twice.

Fact: 6 days asymptomatic after positive test on PCR, you are now immune, period. Toss your mask, screw social distancing. You’re fine. 10,000,000 to 1 you won’t get it again, and if you have no symptoms, you can’t give it.

I didn’t say “all vaccines” I said the two Covid-19 vaccines contain them. Go back to your mom’s basement.

Haha. You are so brilliant. No, ones that the President is suggesting do NOT have fetal cells. The ones from Gates and friends probably do conrsin them.

You were the one jumping to conclusions. Oh, BTW, I am way too old for basement dwelling.
