Doesn’t matter. Americans have been convinced that masks are important, and anyone not wearing one is hurting YOU.
Facts be damned this is a feelings based society.
We’ve always known that.
“but did not examine whether the wearer protects others by using the item. “
I thought most of the advice about masks was that you wear them to protect others.
The fearpers will respond so we should wear nothing on our face?
Yes. Just wash your hands, use hand santizer and socially distance if you want.
A friend of mine told me several weeks about this. He knew somebody who talked to one of the authors of the study. According to my friend, the authors were published by St Fauci to not announce their findings until after our election.
It's not about infection, it's about COMPLIANCE!
Reindoctrination Camps are next.
She's a Dane, and captioned this dig at Americans thusly:
Clearly, masks are effective since we are experiencing the largest disease outbreak yet while mask mandates were in effect. It’s science.
Non-possible!
Covid Karens assure me we must cower in place with our Face-Depends(TM) securely fastened to our pie-holes.
Social Distancing is not “Science”. It is “Fantasy”, unsupported by any data anywhere, to my knowledge.
The medical community in this nation had lost all credibility AND WILL NEVER REGAIN IT.
I’m going to have fun shoving this in faces...so to speak.
Isn’t the question whether the help prevent the wearer from passing the virus to others? That’s been the whole point of the masks throughout the year.
on the news last night there was a short blurb about a woman who had covid, got on an elevator, and 18 people who rode it afterwards ‘got covid’
Not sure how they determined the woman ws to blame, and let’s not forget, the majority of tests are false positives- so who knows if they actually did or not
Also not mentioned was how many of the so called infected had masks on inside the elevator- probably all of them- so if they did actually get covid, and did actully get it from the elevator, after she rode on it- then yeah- that kinda shows that masks don’t protect individuals
but of course their side will argue ‘other people rode the elevator too and didn’t get sick’ or ‘well those folks didn’t wear them properly’ blah blah blah
They seem to have a ready answer for anything in their effort to keep low info folks locked down in fear- over a virus where 98+% survive
What is the survival rate of regular flue?
Masks wearing is just a plot to make us all have Will Smith Ears so he wont feel like such an outcast
This is actually big. The DANMASK-19 study has been suppressed for 5 months. First established RCT on masks and Covid-19 specifically.
Results? No significant difference at preventing wearers from becoming infected with the virus!!!
(Yes, we knew this, but now we can hammer the CDC and Fauci)
It’s like putting up chicken wire to stop mosquitoes.
Bump
This is the first and only RCT we have on mask effectiveness against COVID-19 in community settings, but its findings of ineffectiveness are fully expected in light of all the other RCTs we have on other respiratory viruses.
No matter what this or any study concludes, it will mean nothing to the mask cultists who are in a full-blown, hair-on-fire, dig my beliefs frenzy. Likley explained by the “Sunk cost fallacy”. They are possessed religious fanatics and nothing will shake them from their desperation to control something about this virus. If these are the findings from a covering such as a surgical mask, imagine how inept cotton masks are.
Nothing short of a hazmat suit or N95 will protect them from their greatest fear....getting a virus that has a 99.7% survival rate.
Please answer this question: how do masks reduce transmission one way, but not the other? Is there a one-way valve stitched into the fabric?
We cannot do a study showing that masks protect others as it would be unethical to send infected individuals out into the community. This study is the best we got or likely will ever get. Surgical masks do not stop this virus. Do you really thing cloths mask do?
One year ago today:
After the Chinese city of Wuhan halted outbound flights, trains, buses and ferries in an effort to stop the spread of a deadly new virus, 12 other cities in the province followed suit, bringing more than 36 million people under lockdown.
After the Chinese city of Wuhan halted outbound flights, trains, buses and ferries in an effort to stop the spread of a deadly new virus, 12 other cities in the province followed suit, bringing more than 36 million people under lockdown. Health officials in Chicago said a woman in her 60s had become the second U.S. patient diagnosed with the new virus; she’d returned from China in mid-January.
