DOG-OWNERS are 78 per cent more likely to catch the coronavirus, experts claim.
They say pet owners should take hygiene seriously when they're out with their pooches.
Scientists in Spain looked at different daily activities and rated them according to risk of catching Sars-Cov-2.
They claim supermarket home deliveries are more risky than visiting a shop in person.
The researchers surveyed 2,086 people in Spain and around 41 per cent of the participants were aged between 40 and 54 years old.
The study, published in the journal Environmental Research, by the University of Granada and the Andalusian School of Public Health in Spain found that 4.7 per cent of the group had caught the virus at some point - this equated to 98 people.
The participants were quizzed on what activities they had undertaken.
The team stated that living with a dog and taking it for walks upped the risk by 78 per cent.
The experts stated that this could be due to the fact that when out walking, dogs may touch surfaces that are contaminated and then pass it on to their owners.

Pray people don’t start killing the “experts”, which they so richly deserve.
We love our DOGS and would willingly start shooting the “experts”.
I have 5 dogs, and I’m past 70!
Guess I’m dead and just don’t know it yet.
snicker snicker!
I wouldn’t off Fluffy yet if I were you.
Mandatory dog buy-backs?
Won’t work. Tax them, they’re spreaders.
Yes. Though perhaps not MAD, rather the many Muslim ghosts in the vicinity of the Alhambra/Grenada. Waiting to recapture it. Washington Irving spent time there, his ghost stories in Tales of the Alhambra are the equal of his Headless Horseman, multiple sources of that, and Sleepy Hollow. And much shorter.
Don't tell those shutting everything everything down, destroying buisness', isolating family. Destroying Thanksgiving, soon Christmas and Chanukah. Note, the elites celebrate all these things, including birthdays and political victories. Something to live for, which they would deny us.
Possibly formite contract from people not disinfecting the goods before handling and storing goods (infectious virus has been found to survive in the fridge and freezer food). But if one is as careful as you, you'd think pickup/delivery would be less of a risk.
This thread reminds me of the greatness of FreeRepublic. If I had read about this ridiculous “study” without the accompanying voices of reason found here, the entire C-virus situation would be even harder to take.
