So, will the 47% that get us there have any regrets after full implementation of Oceania and Big Brother?
Who knows what the 47% (going to be a much smaller number soon) end up thinking? Some may not even notice Big Bro enough to care. But they are going to complain uselessly as systems begin breaking down at an increasing rate. Not just education and health care that we already see, but as people stop achieving and stop trying to better themselves or “get ahead” because they can’t and will be blocked from doing so by confiscatory taxes and the Green New Deal, other systems will start breaking down - power, water, sewer, communications, energy, transportation - the utilities they will start noticing. Store shelves...all the hoarding in the world will buy you two weeks, and you’re going to need decades.
But the one thing this might do is cure us of the idea that electing a president or getting majorities in Congress or on the Supreme Court will save us from ourselves. We can’t reform this government or societal structure any longer, it is what it is and is going to be. We, or our progeny, will have to destroy this one and start again from the beginning to build a new one. Eventually this one will weaken or corrupt itself enough that it can’t stand any longer, the people will have to rise up or perish.
