From California to Pennsylvania, governors and mayors across the U.S. are ratcheting up COVID-19 restrictions amid the record-shattering resurgence of the virus that is all but certain to get worse because of holiday travel and family gatherings over Thanksgiving.
Leaders are closing businesses or curtailing hours and other operations, and they are ordering or imploring people to stay home and keep their distance from others to help stem a rising tide of infections that threatens to overwhelm the health care system.
“I must again pull back the reins,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said Monday as he restricted indoor gatherings to 10 people, down from 25. “It gives me no joy.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced he is pulling the “emergency brake” on efforts to reopen the economy, saying the state is experiencing the fastest growth in cases yet, and if left unchecked, it will lead to “catastrophic outcomes.” The move closes many nonessential indoor businesses and requires the wearing of masks outside homes, with limited exceptions.
Thanksgiving was on the minds of leaders nationwide as they enacted tougher restrictions amid fears that the holiday will lead to more infections.
“We don’t really want to see mamaw at Thanksgiving and bury her by Christmas,” said Dr. Mark Horne, president of the Mississippi State Medical Association. “It’s going to happen. You’re going to say ‘Hi’ at Thanksgiving, ‘It was so great to see you,’ and you’re going to either be visiting by FaceTime in the ICU or planning a small funeral before Christmas.”

The first 9 month lockdown didn’t destroy the surprisingly robust U.S. economy from bouncing back, so the leftist governors are going to strangle the baby again.
Bolshevik Baby-Face-Beshear in Kentucky is starting to make similiar grumblings. The state legislature is going to have, allegedly, more of his enemies in it in January. I am hoping they shorten his leash a bit but I am not holding my breath over it. I emailed my state rep who seemed sympathetic to concerns as he replyed same day. My worthless state senator didn’t even bother to reply.
None of this sh!t makes sense... I fear for what’s coming.

Exactly. I can see the fake storyline the media is setting up.
1. Post stories of a sudden resurgence of the dreaded Covid. Doesn’t matter what the actual stats are or that numbers of people dying of Covid are not changing.
2. Force Biden as president.
3. Biden institutes 6 week draconian lockdown.
4. Media proclaims it a stunning example of leadership that fixed the problem! The media then simply stops reporting anything about Covid.
This is what New Yorkers and Kalifornians vote for. This is what they get. The problem is that they will move away and vote the same sort of a**holes into public office in their new homes.

I have family members that are being locked down. They all had COVID and recovered. But their Governor and Mayor are shuttering their State. I thought of inviting them here. But they have bought into the whole virus is going to kill everyone meme.
Last week, myself and another coach paid for a mini tournament and pizza party for teenagers and parents who participated in our league this year. About 40 people. Every parent said the same thing. Thank you, finally something normal for these kids again. We did it for that very reason, to fight the obvious depression, anger and frustration we see even in our teenage athletes at being locked down. One coach is in his 70s, I am in my 60s and the rest are in their 50s. As far as I know none of us have had COVID. We just are not afraid of the virus. I see people divided into those afraid and those who are careful but will not let the fear dictate their lives. You know all the people convinced this is an apocalypse say the exact same stuff. They sound like robots. I also coach kick boxing and am in constant contact with sweaty athletes. I try to be careful not to touch my face until I use hand sanitizer, but beyond that I just enjoy coaching and training. The virus did kill friend of mine in his seventies, active seemingly healthy man but apparently some comorbidity issues. Will the virus hit me, maybe, but around here the odds are better some Karen in a big ass truck will hit me first.

If I ran any kind of NEWS organization or Publication, Every reporter would be assigned to an Elected Official ordering lockdowns, and they would be EXPOSED Daily for Violating their own edicts.

We’ve all voted to become serfs and that began with the GWB administration. Now the government apparently can mandate what we do and who we congregate with? Welcome to the socialist utopia we’ve allowed to happen.
Who was it that said “death to America”? Well they got their wish without a single shot being fired.
It's clear after eight months that masking doesn't work, anti-social distancing doesn't work, restrictions don't work and lockdowns work only as long as people stay ... well ... locked down in their homes.
So what do these pathetic pieces-of-sh!t governors do? Re-institute what is proven to have not worked! At all!
I truly don't understand how, unlike me since April, people continue to put up with this crap from mere politicians and their politburos of unelected bureaucrats.
Enough! We don't work for them. We're not subservient to them (unless, of course, we think so little of ourselves or are so scared of everything that we act irrationally and encourage their behavior -- their tyranny).
Enough! Stop being afraid of politicians and bureaucrats! Screw each and every one of them and tell them -- to their ugly mugs if the opportunity presents itself -- to "eff off" and leave you the hell alone!
