France will make clear to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a visit to Paris next week that it opposes a unilateral American withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq given the fight against Islamist militancy, its foreign minister said on Friday.

Didn’t France try hard to stop us from going into Iraq and Afghanistan right after 9/11? I’m pretty sure I remember them vigorously opposing and scheming against our entry in the United Nations
All that tells you is EVERYTHING the President has been saying about NATO and the UN since Day One. They use us for protection.
Someone high profile in France has a money maker in Afghanistan and they need the US military to protect that investment. Nothing more, nothing less. Have the French put their troops or foreign legion on the ground and handle their own business.
Amazing how many folks depend on Uncle Sugar to take care of them.
On a side note, if God forbid, Harris and her running mate do pull this off, I’d like to start a pool as to how long before US troops are sent somewhere they don’t need to be, under rules that will get them killed. The Dem’s are not the party of peace. They are the party of profiteering in any way possible. These days, there’s no better way to profit then from war and nation building. All those contracts and people needed to do stuff. We’ll be somewhere, by the end of next year “helping” put some radical muslim tyrant in power, somewhere.
One more thing, the world can kiss the President’s work on FINALLY bringing peace to the Middle East. He did in less than 3 years, what every President after Carter has “said” they were going to do since the summit with Sadat and Begin.
France refused to join us in the Second Iraq War, which at the time and in retrospect I found quite intelligent. Trump is trying to get us the hell out of Iraq, which I currently find quite intelligent. The French now want us to stay there and fight for them, which I would find pretty stupid on our part, but only if the Administration kow tows to them. I don’t doubt Biden will lay down for foreign countries continually, however.

The French have something called a "Foreign Legion", I have heard. It's made up of non-French volunteers, so it spares the country of crying French children, mothers and dads.
