Republicans Are On Track To Take Back The House In 2022

Republicans are well positioned to take the House in 2022 Although we don’t yet know the winners of some House races, we can already look ahead to the 2022 midterms and see a fairly straightforward path for the GOP to capture the House. Midterm elections historically go well for the party that’s not in the White House, and the out-of-power party is especially likely to do well in the House, since every seat is up for election.

Since the end of World War II, the presidential party has lost an average of 27 House seats in midterm elections, as the chart below shows. No matter how many seats Democrats end up with after 2020’s election — at this point, they will probably end up somewhere in the low 220s — a loss of that magnitude would easily be enough for Republicans to retake the House.

The recent history of midterms in a Democratic president’s first term seems especially promising for the GOP, too. Following Bill Clinton’s election in 1992, Democrats lost more than 50 seats in 1994, and after Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008, Democrats lost more than 60 seats.

If Democrats had added five to 10 seats this year, they could have survived a 20-seat loss in the midterms. Instead, Republicans will probably need to win fewer than 10 seats to gain a slender majority in 2022.

On top of this, Republicans could very well benefit from the new district lines that will be drawn ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. The GOP is set to fully control redistricting for about two-fifths of all House seats, while Democrats will only hold sway over one-tenth of them, with the remaining seats are in states with divided governments or where redistricting is done by a commission system.

Nothing surprising here but nice to read anyway. Sean Trende at RCP projects that the Republicans would win back the house just from redistricting and reapportionment alone (R+6 D-6).

Add in the average of 27 seats that the party with the presidency loses in midterms and it's a wipeout.

Add in the average of 55 house seats that Obama and Clinton lost in their first term and it's a historic realignment.

Add in the fact that Biden is nothing compared to Clinton as a campaigner, and lacks whatever oratorical skills people claim Obama had ...

Add in the fact that the populace has moved right since 2010 and the Democratic party has moved left ...

Add in the civil war in the Democratic party ...

If the Marxists Democrats get away with their election fraud this year, the GOP won’t win anything in 2022, 2024, and beyond.

The good thing is that the Ryan Republicans have been systematically replaced with real Republicans - people more likely to fight back against fraud.

Color me skeptical.

Look what the Dems did in 2018.

Their cheating machine and stranglehold on Americans is only getting stronger.

No way in h*ll they will ever allow a free and fair election. That would be un-Democrat.

No matter. Let's focus on 2020, or there may not be a 2022.

No they are not - unless we resolve voter fraud now.

There will be no future free elections if it is not resolved immediately.

If we dont deal with the rampant voter fraud by the democrats, deep state actors and the companies doing voter machines, we’ll never have a chance.

Yeah.

Maybe they can ask Paul Ryan to come back.

Forgive me, but I am ANGRY, and I have been screaming about this since November of 2000...

YOU F--KING A--HOLES!!! WE WILL NOT WIN ANYTHING UNTIL WE GET VOTER ID, REMOVE ALL COMPUTER VOTING MACHINES, GO BACK TO PAPER BALLOTS AND PUNISH THOSE RESPONSIBLE AT ALL LEVELS FOR TAMPERING WITH ELECTIONS.

I don’t see it. Why would the Democrats steal the Presidency and quit at the five yard line? They’re suddenly going to be honest?

I expect them to be up to their tricks in the Georgia runoffs.

I can appreciate the conservative cheerleading but I think the setback that the next two years presents will put us at a generational disadvantage.

Start thinking about bouncing back in 2075 if the stars align.

Unless President Trump scores a victory in 2020. That changes things.

Paul Ryan’s autistic tax cut, which raised federal taxes for a good chunk of GOP voters in blue states, while cutting it for Dem voters who will never vote for the GOP, cost the GOP dozens of blue state seats. Biden’s upcoming tax hike (assuming a Dem Senate majority) will remind upper middle income libertines who disdain the GOP as the Jesus freak party that it is also the (relative) tax restraint party.

Precisely....Harris/Biden plan on giving citizenship to millions of illegals present in the country. They’ll be handing it out like no one will be able to comprehend.

The USA will be the3rd world inside 12 months. Of course, some places will not be.

It will be a real life version of The Hunger Games.

If there’s an election in 2022, it’ll just be theater if Biden is in the White House. We’ll never have a fair election again.

I agree that Republicans will not win any election ever again. The Democrats have taken fraud to a new level in this election and they will be emboldened by their criminal victory.

We win such overwhelming majorities that the Democrats cannot find enough sycophants to commit fraud in many jurisdictions, and they simply mathematically cannot generate enough plausible votes in the jurisdictions that they still influence to win. If we convince 90% of the population to vote Republican, then the Democrats, even with their fraud machines and triple-voting, still won’t win.
