“Trumpism without Trump” is what America needs in four years, said conservative author Ann Coulter during a lecture at the University of Texas at Austin on Thursday night hosted by the university’s Young Conservatives of Texas.
In a wide-ranging speech that reached far beyond the event’s proposed topic of immigration, the political commentator explained to a socially-distanced crowd of 97 people why she believes the 2020 U.S. presidential election has produced “the best of all possible outcomes” for conservatives.
“The reason I’m very happy that [President] Trump lost – and lost narrowly – is that a second term of Trump would have killed us,” Coulter said.
“What we want, and what I think we can get in four years, is Trumpism without Trump,” she said.
Coulter defined “Trumpism” as America taking care of its own people first.
“The left behind, the working class, the middle class — they want jobs, they want safe neighborhoods. They don’t want to have to keep paying taxes for English as a Second Language classes and to pay for emergency rooms with a lot of illegal immigrants coming in with many … health problems,” she said.
“We have to take care of our own first. That’s Trumpism. And it hasn’t been tried. It certainly hasn’t triumphed,” Coulter opined.
“[W]ith Trump … He’d say these wild things that we’d get blamed for, he’d get attacked on, and then actually did nothing,” she explained.
“Trump thinks, ‘I tweeted it. Therefore, it’s done’,” Coulter said.
“It’s ironic … that he lost this election, very possibly because of cheating. Democrats cheat all the time. … Trump has been talking about ‘mail-in ballots are dangerous, they’re gonna steal this election.’ He’s been talking about it … probably all year,” she said.
“Talking about it isn’t the same as doing it,”

Doesn’t work. We tried to get mild-mannered and compromising figures like Romney and McCain elected - and they rolled over when challenged by liberal bullies. We needed a rough, tough fighter. And for the good of the country, we need someone who will STAND UP for what is right, not roll over and say, “Well, I tried.”
Given the Republican gains in Congress — and the kind of Republicans — I can see how she came to that conclusion, and one day (2024? 2028?) we will have to come to that point. But how can carry the banner better than President Trump?
ah, so Ann would like to ‘intellectually appropriate’ Trump without Trump. That’s very leftist of her. But one doesn’t work without the other because with Trump, we got a guy in our corner who knows how to work his intellect and is willing to lose it all to keep America’s working man winning. And there’s yet to be born a politician (or author) who’s willing to do the same. How do I know? Because none did it before Trump even though in some cases they’ve had almost as much time clocked in DC as Biden to step forward.
I can see Don Lemon..er LeMon, crying on Ann’s shoulder, reassured a ‘polite’ eldeerly white savior has rescued him and made everything all right again on the plantation. As Ann takes her place in a rocking chair on the porch.
A gross upstart, they’re the worst kind.
Of all the disappointing positions that Ann Coulter has taken...this is the most outrageous. She has really lost her mind and is completely out of touch. For one thing, a record number of Republican voters came out for Trump. People like the guy. What other GOP candidate sells full-sized campaign flags instead of just buttons and bumper stickers. From college students to farmers, the people wanted Trump.
What an ungrateful bitch.
He sacrificed it all to do right, not seen since the actual founding fathers.

WHO? Who is as comfortable in his own skin, unafraid to take on the media and slap them down, is as funny and entertaining, can draw a huge crowd - not flies! - and cares as much as Trump does about the people who support him? No one. Good luck trying.
P.S. Trump will be the same age in four years as Joe Cadaver is now, but in MUCH better shape. After the mess Cadaver and Heels Up make, it’ll be a walk in the park for our guy.
Another cry for help from you, only shorter this time. Name-calling isn’t going to make people like or respect you. I can remember when Free Republic was about more than just insulting people in obscene terms.
