Look at the data...

Flu started in 2019 about week 42 + or - ...the start point has some variability from season to season...

Flu is fairly predictable, running its course over ~4 months, then subsiding as the weather warms up...

We are only in Week 46 for the 2020/2021 Flu season...and it looks like we see a small Flu spike in weeks 42-44...but, keep an eye out over the next 3-4 weeks...

We should see the Flu numbers increase as expected...

Or, It could be that the normal Flu surveillance may be hindered this season by the big shiny object, COVID, on your TV screen every night...?

It could also be that there is grande dinero del gobierno (that’s big government $$$ for those in Rio Linda) to be made with COVID testing and “cases”...

Good analysis but the article and your post missed one point. The lack of a flu season in Australia and New Zealand this year. The Aussies had 10% of last year’s numbers. Similar numbers throughout the lands under the Southern Cross.
