Manchin could be key to saving the checks and balances the Founding Fathers built into the Republic.
IIRC, he said this would be his last term. His state is overwhelmingly a red state so he might be persuaded to formally flip to the Republicans.

You’re spot on in your analysis, but somebody needs to tell Manchin that when the Bolsheviks take power the Mencheviks are the first up against the wall. And if the AOC faction ever gains ascendancy, he should keep an eye out for people with ice picks, especially if he happens to visit Mexico.

for years I have bugged Joe Manchin to switch parties. His problem is his habit of depending on the Unions for funding. He just won’t recognize that WV has turned red. He’s a good man and I love him, so I keep sending love letters. WV is a Republican state now Joe. FLIP.
