That has been my word of choice since 11/4. Things have been very hinky. I know kids today say “sus” (suspect/suspicious), but I’m old school. Very hinky, indeed.

My husband thinks he heard it first from people who hailed from the Midwest of the US.
Internet investigation seems to indicate that it originally came from American Black and Gangster slang in the 1920s-1930s.
Whatever way, it's a pretty good word whose sound and affect seem to indicate 'somethin' strange goin' on here.'
