Aw, go ahead and tell ‘em. It’s ok to let ‘em get the big head every now and then. LOL

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Was it a pretty day for your outing with Gizmo? Brisk enough to make that silly pooch extra-frisky? :-)

Well....maybe. LOL! Anyway, they are part of the good guys that we honor daily here on FR!

Well, it was a specular day for me yesterday. I gained new followers on Parler and MeWe. Also Gizmo and I enjoyed some really nice weather at Wichita Ridge. Here are the pics.

They most definitely are part of the good guys we honor daily here!

Somehow I ended up with no veterans in my immediate family but there are several ancestors on Dad’s side who were, going back to the Revolutionary War. We knew about my great-great-grandfather but I discovered the others while helping with research into the family tree.

Today was a little depressing. The military museum has been open for Veterans Day since it’s been open and we weren’t today. That hurt.

Look at that sky! Crisp blue and not a cloud in sight. Y’all had a beautiful day and Giz certainly looked like he had a blast.

It was dismal here but warm until almost sunset. Then the front came through and the temp started dropping.

Awwww....now that’s just wrong. It should be open! Are we letting fear rule us way too much? Have they made any plans at all to re-open in the forseeable future?

It should have been open all along! Some of us wanted it open but others were too afraid. They did do a few group tours during the summer but we were never open during the weekends. I’ve reeeeeeeeeally missed being there and hope this virus mess is over and done with by next year so we CAN open back up.

Well, it’s not like it’s a crowded small room....no reason to keep closed. But, rules are rules I guess. At least it won’t be 2020 for much longer. Things HAVE to be better!

I guess I’d better head out on that happy note. LOL! See ya tomorrow night. I’m doin’ beachie’s thread.

Thank you, Kathy, for your tireless efforts.

I was thinking about moving to Alaska. You know, because I’m sick of the Canadian snow. ;)

Seriously, what is the best place to be? American Airlines does fly to Alaska, or any other place in the States for that matter.

Just the thought of Alaska, the freedom, the fresh air and scenery... :)

Kathy, one of these days I’m going to have to share with you all a story about a Newfoundland dog named Gander, who served with the Canadian military in WWI.

Okay, being a bit of an insomniac, I’ll just tell it now. :)

He saw how the soldiers kept throwing back the grenades. But at one point, all of the soldiers were too injured to reach a grenade that had just been thrown at them.

So the dog picked it up in his mouth and ran towards the enemy...whereupon it exploded, near the attackers.

There is a statue of the dog in Gander, Newfoundland (a place that helped many Americans in the aftermath of 9/11, when the planes were grounded).

Dogs are truly man’s best friend. I’ve had dogs all of my life.

Yep, plenty of space in there but. Unfortunately, those of us who wanted to open were over-ruled by those who weren’t keen on the idea.

I’m SO ready for this year to be over. It’s been bad from the beginning. If 2021 isn’t better, we’re in a heap o’ trouble!

Catch ya tomorrow.

Well, I'm in Anchorage and we have Alaskan snow...about 8" at my house in the last few days, and other places MUCH more. 😋

Southeast is mostly small town and more rain than snow. Just don't go to Juneau...the state capitol and politicians!
