Joe Biden Names Ron Klain, Obama’s Ebola Czar, His White House Chief Of Staff

President-elect Joe Biden named Ron Klain, a lawyer and former President Barack Obama’s “Ebola czar,” to serve as his White House chief of staff.

“Ron has been invaluable to me over the many years that we have worked together, including as we rescued the American economy from one of the worst downturns in our history in 2009 and later overcame a daunting public health emergency in 2014,” Biden said in a Wednesday statement distributed by his transition team.

Klain has additionally been extremely critical of President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

In March, he gave the federal government’s response an “F” grade.

“What we’re living with now in this country, the virus was created by nature, but the failed response was created by decisions we made,” Klain said on CNBC. “We’re going to pay a huge price for squandering January, squandering February, squandering even a little bit of March.”
