When natural gas came into our neighborhood we immediately hooked on and our home energy expenses went down dramatically - at least 60% savings. (heat, tank-less hot water, cooking stove) It is great!!!
California would deprive their citizens of such savings??
Coal? Wood? Or how about nuclear?

For heat and cooking they can burn abundant, carbon neutral, people poop...
If the GND is implemented, they will in short order announce that the science says it is not enough. Nothing is ever enough for the radical enviros. There will be outright bans on natural gas and other technologies, and if you cannot afford to retrofit to whatever they decide you should have, your home will be condemned and you will be forced out. They are at war with the single family home.
Yeah the same basic concept is why all the truly rich welcome regulation and taxation.
You get enough burdens and upstarts can never get off the ground.

Landlords of crappy buildings don’t want a Trump putting in twice the building at half the price. So they dream up green house gas regulations of no windows and no natural gas.

You have just described a lot of housing, office space and warehouses in California. Their for sale prices have doubled if not tripled in many areas in the last 5-10 years.
Lots of Californians seem to embrace it.

So if you happen to be in one of Kalifornia's rolling blackout areas, then do you chop up furniture to build a fire in the middle of your living room for cooking and heat?

For control of cooking temperatures, most cooks depend upon natural gas. For stir-fry chiefs, gas is the only way to get a wok hot enough. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors must not have any idea how the electricity is produced to fire up a flat top electric grill. Morons are what you get when you select your leaders based upon Identity Politics.
That would include all greenhouse gases, like what spews out their forward and aft orifices.

It is pretty green. When combusted next to water vapor, CO2 is the largest by product. Of course plants love CO2, so green.

Build a new building. Finish it on, say June 30th.
Next day, it’s July 1st. Now your building is no longer new - it’s one day old.
Install natural gas features to your heart’s content.
