Joe Biden’s Coronavirus Team Includes Ezekiel Emanuel, Who ‘Hope[s] to Die at 75’

Joe Biden announced a proposed coronavirus team Monday for his new administration — and it includes Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, who once wrote that he did not hope to live past the age of 75.

Emanuel, the brother of President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is known for his role in designing Obamacare. Once mocked as “Dr. Death” in debates over the rationing of end-of-life care, Emanuel wrote in 2014 that “living too long” was a state to be avoided.

It’s not a matter of how old you are — but how healthy you are — at any age. That is the lesson we should have learned from all this Covid hysteria and the media’s attempts to blur these distinctions (discriminations).

Sick, unhealthy old people do most of the dying for their cohort — and not that healthy people just drop dead randomly because they have been exposed to germs, bacteria, fungus, viruses, domestic abuse, etc. Healthy people at any age, have a much greater prognosis for continued healthy life — while people in the longterm care centers, nursing homes, hospice — are expected to die momentarily, for ANY reason. Most have multiple organ failures brought about by their chronic diseased conditions that make them ticking time bombs — that even all the money in the world, is not going to prevent them from succumbing to.

Seventy-five seems to be way too premature to draw the line of demarcation between the viable and the dying. In the future, as more employ the science and technology of daily living, we can expect people to reach 100 without looking like 100 — and dying. Obviously, that is not going to be the case if people don’t take primary care of their own health — and only leave it up to the experts to “make” them healthy. Nobody can do that for anybody else — and so the main thrust of health (education) in the future, should be on what each individual can do for themselves to live a healthier life — and that is what makes a long life possible.

But if one simply accumulates more comorbidities thinking that can go on forever, Covid or some other impact, will put an end to that delusion — fast.

Since Zeke Emanuel believes that folks over 75 don’t have a right to live, I wonder how much Sleepy Joe, age 79, is concerned about having Zeke around him?

I tell my nieces and nephews in this age bracket that 75 is the new 50!
