Uh-oh, the shi# is gonna hit now. I’ll say this- she has a good deal of courage. Imagine the pressure, the phone calls and emails she’s receiving today. She is correct- we’ll see what happens.
They ran up against this in the 2000 Bush-Gore election result delay. The Republican Party kicked in and also members were solicited for donations. The private funds were used to fund advance work of the GW Bush transition team while the process worked out. I don’t recall them griping about it. They just adapted to an unusual situation and pushed ahead. If the Dems believe they’re in the right here, they should just quietly do the same—without any drama-queenery.
It’s encouraging to see that the GSA Administrator, Emily Murphy, is actually trying to follow the law even though there is pressure on her to skip the required procedures, and I can only hope that her example will give some courage to others.
