This has been going back and forth. The last large return was from Salt Lake county and it put Owens ahead.

So does this mean we pick off another house seat or was this already accounted for in our house gains?

Libertarian Party spoiler alert (3.7% of the vote in Owen’s race).

The only thing the Libertarian party has achieved in its entire existence is to usually siphon votes away from other Conservatives that are in the GOP. Rand Paul and his father have had a better approach. Being part of the GOP caucus they have had some impact on other GOP members, held onto their seats and held onto their principles.

Libertarian Party folks on the other hand have had nothing but a game, taking peoples money for chances that never pan out, and making no impact because they never get into office.

Sure would be a lot simpler if some group, oh say journalists, made the final call on this and declared the winner. (Do I need an /S?)

This is a red district. Mia Love was in, but she went left and the voters sent her packing. This enabled McAdams, a total Nancy boy, to have two years. But he voted for impeachment, so here we are. Owens would be an R pick up.

If it’s this close, isn’t a recount automatically triggered no matter who wins?

My FRiends in this trying time, let me cheer you up with a little story. You’ll excuse me... I’m not going to bomb everyone with it, but at some other point I’ll pop it into a couple other threads:

In what we now know was the last gasp before the GOP was crushed in the California Assembly, in 1994 they won a majority, 41-39. However Speaker Willie Brown convinced one GOP member to switch parties, and then a couple three others to vote for him for The umpteenth time as Speaker.

McCarthy wasn’t in politics yet, but TomMcClintock was, and I’m sure others who are still in the House. They know what is at least possible in these razor thin circumstances. With looks like a 4-5 vote rat majority for the next session, a handful of rats in red or pink districts hold the whip hand. They’re scared to death they’re going to lose their seats next time, and probably will if history is a guide.

I’ve gained a lot more respect for McCarthy. Even if he can’t flip those three to five votes to get elected Speaker, I’m sure he’s working right now on it, or at least forging a coalition with a small number of rats to thwart the at least the most loony leftist proposals.

At the very least, I’d bet a hundred bucks Pelosi won’t be re-elected speaker. She’s electoral poison to these people I’m talking about
