The DOJ should be doing this...
The DOJ should have had an election integrity division long ago
“Federal elections are administered by state and local governments, although the specifics of how elections are conducted differ between the states. The Constitution and laws of the United States grant the states wide latitude in how they administer elections.”
The DOJ can go in when a violation is reported against federal election laws, but they cannot sit in the polling places and watch the count representing the feds to oversee the violations.
If you want to read up on their responsibilities, as much as I hate it, here is a website that appears to be basically complete. A lot of voting laws are very abstract:

I wonder how our voting system compares to the rest of the world. It would be interesting to know who has the best voting system.
We need voter ID and maybe even finger printing. It would eliminate so much fraud. Of course the left would find something to remove the ink and have fake ID made.
My wife and I voted in person at 7:57 am at our East Central Minnesota polling place. 57 minutes after polls opened, the electronic ballot scanner was not accepting ballots. We were directed to insert our ballots into a slot on the front of the cabinet, a workman was on the way, and the un-scanned ballots would all have to be put through by the poll worker after the scanner was again operational.
That said, I was gratified to find that in the process of modernization, the precinct book has been replaced with an on-screen app which the poll worker uses to verify names and addresses against the poll roster. She also accepted and scanned our drivers' licenses and collected a signature. She didn't say they were directed to ask for the license, but they were equipped with a device to do so, and everyone we saw proffered a license. So, it looks like Voter ID is currently accomodated whether or not Minnesota mandates it.
