You are reminding me—in my much younger days I had a job where I had to fly all over the country to attend public hearings and represent the company.
My boss also had a job where he had to fly all over the country.
We actually did meet in hub airports (like Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago) when our schedules allowed—it was our only chance to talk face to face!

I still don’t believe that tiny invitation-only events where the location of the event is kept secret, so that the candidate can sneak into town, and sneak out again, isn’t going to win people over to their side.
Trump can make a surprise visit and get a large enthusiastic crowd. Last weekend he had a rally in Manchester NH and decided to fly to Bangor ME at a moments notice and 4,000 people showed up. A few weeks ago he had a private fundraising event at someone’s house in Huntington Beach CA and when people heard he was in town thousands lined the street to wave flags and signs as he was leaving the event. That was spontaneous ourpouring of support.
