If someone can figure out why Trump is in Dubuque, please let me know. I cannot believe he's concerned about his IA numbers, or Sen. Joni Ernst's numbers. Iowa does have three Dem House races primed for flipping, but Dubuque is in IA-01 (already supposedly the best shot to flip if we believe the polls). Why not hold a rally in IA-02 or IA-03? As for Dubuque being on the border of WI, sure. But then why not hold the rally in WI?

Disclaimer: Those guys have won a presidential campaign. I have not. Just really don't understand this move, unless they only think IA-01 is primed for flipping.

I think he was probably 2 or 3 up when rally scheduled. He’s more like 5 now.

He should be going to PA, WI, MI and MN. He barely won PA/MI/WI four years ago, and barely lost MN (by 1.5 points) despite spending no money there. Trump won Iowa by over 9 points in 2016.

Trump already hit Des Moines recently. NE Iowa historically trends more D than the rest of the state, so there are votes to be fought for there to improve Trump’s Iowa performance. Also, Dubuque is right on the Mississippi River across from SW Wisconsin and NW Illinois. Illinois does not look achievable, but Wisconsin is in reach and very important. I think Dubuque is a shrewd, multi-tasking pick for a last-minute campaign rally.

Yeah, I'd rather POTUS go to MN than NC. GA and NC and even IA can be argued that he's trying to save Senate/flip House seats. But he can flip a Senate seat and two House seats in MN.

Or, I doubt it, but his team could really be worried about potentially losing states like OH and IA. If that's the case, then we're going to be very sad on Wednesday. I don't anticipate that happening, but I've been wrong before.
