since the 12th amendment split the presidential and VP votes, the median victory is getting 2/3 of the electoral votes, or 359-179 with the current count. 356 would therefore be slightly eorse than the median.

Keeping the Senate is key. What helps this is the lack of ticket splitting in recent presidential elections. If Trump wins a state with a Republican Senator running, the Senator has an edge. Maine can be lost by this measure but SC and AZ should be OK.

Good point. Trump is made of different stuff, and more of the population is onto the media, and there are more outlets. Trump also spent his career out of politics but in the public eye. He is cleaner than most successful politicians. To the degree that the China Virus was exploited to hurt Trump, it was rather successful, as this was well outside of his wheelhouse, and he had to rely on perfidious experts and fell into a few traps along the way (some of which were completely unavoidable). But your main point, that NOTHING will shut them up, and a big win will only embolden them is well-taken.
