As governments across Europe are contemplating the reinstatement of curfews, lockdowns and other restrictive mitigation measures to combat a resurgent coronavirus, Sweden, which went its own way with a less interventionist response to the virus, has been largely spared from the spreading "second wave."
"Deaths are not so closely connected to the amount of cases you have in a country," claims Sweden's coronavirus response czar, State Epidemiologist Anders Tegnell controversially claims. "There are so many other things," he argues, "that the influence the amount of deaths you have. What part of the population gets hit? Is it the elderly people? How well can you protect people in your long-term facilities? How well does your healthcare system continue to function? How can we improve the treatment in ICUs?"
Tegnell's decision to keep Sweden's society largely open and rely on voluntary participation, rather than imposing reduction measures, may have allowed herd immunity to grow within its population. Why, it’s almost as if humans, having been around in their current form for about 500,000 years, evolved an immune system that can protect them from most viruses. If they hadn’t, they’d have gone extinct.
Sweden used mitigation and that included limited capacity, social distancing and masks. All the stuff the bleating spreaders *here* complain about.
Sure, Sweden’s “case” count has gone up, but not deaths. And I stopped caring about the “case” count back in June.
First, they have to define “case”.
What does Dr. Fauxci have to say about the lower number of cases in non-lockdown Sweden? More double talk?

Sweden is laughing at the world..they did things the RIGHT way..no lockdowns, no orders to wear masks..all they did was this, if you are elderly, you stay home, if you have a pre existing medical condition, you stay home..everyone who is healthy, young, etc..GO TO WORK, GO TO WORK, etc..and look at Sweden, you see people on subways without masks, no one’s dying, people are LIVING, going to restaurants, the way our lives used to be

That article doesn’t make your case. And FWIW, the word “mask” is not even in the article. They stopped large public gatherings, had guidelines and recommendations and did close high schools and universities for a time.
If only they did that in the US. It reminds me of seat belts. When you could legally drive without a seat belt on, my wife and I wore them religiously. Then it became law. We stopped wearing our seat belts for several years. And you know what? It wasn’t that risky. We’re fine. :)
The government forcing this behavior is abhorrent. As some have said regarding other government overreach, our forefathers would have been shooting by now.

Pre covid, a case menat someone sought medical care. Now it means you have tested positive, or know someone who tested positive, or you visited a nursing home.
