Police in Paris have begun carrying out checks on shoppers to ensure they are not flouting France's new national lockdown laws which came into effect at midnight.
The pictures from today offered a stark contrast to just a week ago when people could still freely move around the city during the day while bars and restaurants serving food remained open before the 9pm curfew.

Don’t know which word to use, disturbing or evil.
I can’t imagine shutting your economy completely for a month.
Excellent and very thorough article.
And notice what’s missing in all the panic about COVID?

And I doubt many have.
I suppose on the bright side, more people are aware of how fragile our lifestyle is and vulnerable to disruption. I see a lot of people buying an awful lot of paper goods and products are starting to be in short supply again.

Weekends are very busy for stores.
I am planning on going early Monday morning.
We’re in very rural Constitutional carry, NH, so I don’t feel too unsafe doing that.
Will be loading my mags this weekend, though, and checking the guns out.

The Nazi’s couldn’t have done a better job!
For goodness sake, its a bad cold. Can it become pneumonia or some other worse thing? Of course.
Will it in most cases? No.
So for this we are destroying the lives, fortunes and happiness of millions?
Worst of all, many of those French cops are better armed and armored than the Nazi troops were.
If we tested and contact traced as many people for whatever influenza or even common cold was around a certain year, it would be very interesting to see how many cases there would be.
