There is no science without probability. Probability is not the same thing as guessing.
Probability has certain areas where it can be very helpful, and others where it tends to cause a lot of trouble.
Health care is one of those, imho, because every person really is different, and the “odds of x” killing a random person in the population is not the same (and may be very different) than the “odds of x” killing you or me.
