CHICAGO (WLS) -- New COVID-19 restrictions on indoor dining from Governor Pritzker in effect in much of the Chicago area have drawn pushback from suburban mayors and restaurant owners.
The restrictions are now in effect for suburban Cook County as well as DuPage, Kane, Kankakee and Will counties. They go into effect in Chicago on Friday and Lake and McHenry counties on Saturday.
A full list of the new COVID-19 mitigation measures is included at the bottom of this article.
Orland Park, Libertyville, Itasca, Morton Grove and even Aurora have asked Governor Pritzker to reconsider the restrictions.

Why don’t these cities just declare that they are COVID Sanctuary Cities
It’ll be over as soon as these citizens realize they hold more power than he does.
As Rush said today........ he CAN control their liquor license. Without a liquor license.... they’re out of business.
Stinks to deal with the Dems.
Vote RED - REMOVE EVERY DEMoCRAT
I thought liquor licenses were issued by localities, like a “Liquor Commission” or a City Council.
Our Commie Gov, Queena Raimando in RI is coming out tomorrow with new restrictions because we “ aren’t following the rules”....HELP ME!!!!
and another thing....I'm sure some of those restaurant and other business's are owned by “liberals”...
Whats that old adage?
the difference between a liberal and a Conservative is....The liberal just hasn't been “mugged” yet!
Let the Games begin!!!
Since May, I believed Pritzker was BSing us because of the election.
Now I believe it’s about a bailout. Plain and simple.
Time to launch a 1618 Project.
1618 = The Third Defenestration of Prague
You are 100% correct. He’s been talking about a 40 billion dollar bailout and so has little man suit.
I think you are correct about local authorities for liquor licenses but dems are crooked and could pull some strings. People are fed up with all restrictions.
Enough already.
Pritzker is threatening to send in the State Police, but, they can’t really do all that much, as actual legal action has to be taken by any given county’s “States Attorney”. In at least a few far southern IL counties those States Attorneys are saying they will not prosecute unless it is in a situation where there has been an outbreak in a particular establishment, and the owner refuses to mitigate. The IHSA (IL high school sports controlling body) is pushing back by saying they WILL go through with a high school basketball season, while Chicago Public Schools not surprisingly say they will postpone their season. I would not be surprised to see some blue chip recruits from Chicago transfer abruptly to downstate schools, and I would not even be surprised if the IHSA was unusually lenient in approving such transfers. Meanwhile Pritzker has been doubling down.
I don’t think IL is quite to the point of Italian style riots, but between this stuff and the “Fair Tax” Constitutional Amendment, IL is just locking in the “self-destruct” ever more firmly.
