thats awesome you live around here as well. I live in Riverhead and this is amazing, I’m seeing Trump support everywhere.

I always try to mention to FReeper's that not all of us in the NYC area are hard core leftists, that there are quite a few of us 'deplorables' here as well. Many of my friends in and around NYC are what I might term as 'casual Democrats', who will vote Dem no matter what, because their Daddy voted Dem and all their relatives voted Dem back in the day, so they adhere to the Dem ballot without realizing, or objecting to, what the modern Dem party has become.
Also, due to peer pressure they take the easy way out and parrot the current Dem talking points just to avoid confrontation with their more radical peers ... an 'echo chamber' as it were.

But as I said above, there are a whole lotta 'deplorables' out here, we just keep it within ourselves and hold back our typing fingers on the keyboard whenever some leftie drone runs their whole litany of complaints in a long winded screed.
Can you say 'Silent Majority' ??? Yep, that's us.

What do you think, you think Trump may have a chance and win New York? I think it’s very possible.

It's possible, but unlikely ... unfortunately NYC and the upstate/western cities rule this state (Albany, Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton, Buffalo), we just don't have enough horses in the more rural parts to pull off an upset. However, I think Trump might surprise and do much better than he did in 2016. Ya never can tell. :)

Glad to have you as a NYC area FRiend, Yoda :)

Cheers,
Mr. Moonlight

My wife and I voted for Trump early and in-person today. My son voted yesterday, and daughter and son-in-law are voting on Friday. My brother and his wife and son all voted for Trump. We’re all in MINNESOTA.

I think he has a good chance here. The fact that he is coming back and Pence was here on the Iron Range on Monday are good signs.

I will be surprised (and incredibly disappointed) if Pres. Trump does not win Minnesota’s 10 electoral votes.

If Kanye is at 3% that is game over. I hope.

Yes, Trump IS a machine. His energy is truly astonishing.

At these rallies, Trump should say Biden and Harris aren’t “Democrats” They are GimmeDats!!!

They want free stuff taken by the implied use of force (taxation) from other people.

Spread that around. Maybe someone can get the word to the Trump Campaign.

Finally, have a look at The Best Trump Campaign video so far:

https://report.drudgenow.com/article/?u=https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/the-greatest-trump-ad-in-history-just-released/&n=0&s=3&c=1&pn=Anonymous

DemoRats don’t have a sense of humor, but conservatives are positive, upbeat, enterprising, confident people who can laugh. The only laughter you hear from DemoRats is cowardly ridicule, like on SNL. Not funny.

Yours is a pretty accurate description of what’s going on in Minnesota.

I will tell you that the party activists appear energized this cycle. I, along with a number of others, have been active in the 2nd District. We’re trying to win back some suburban legislative seats we lost in 2018. One of them is in my district.

The number of people showing up at Trump rallies has been huge - especially in northern Minnesota. Biden has been running a sh**load of TV ads in the Twin Cities media market. I’m guessing there’s 3 Biden ads for every Trump ad.

Because the Twin Cities media market reached into some of the 7th District, there have been a lot of ads between GOP Michelle Fischbach and Democrat incumbent Colin Peterson. There was an internal poll released in late summer that showed that Fischbach had an eight point lead but I’ve heard nothing else since then.

The US Senate race is anyone’s guess. Tina Smith has really been in hiding since the get-go. She’s refused to debate Jason Lewis. My feeling is if Lewis can at least hold his own in the 2nd and 3rd ring ‘burbs and not get annihilated there, he has a chance.

He was released from the hospital earlier this evening and is headed back to his home in suburban St Paul. I’m guessing he’ll recuperate for another day and then head out on the campaign trail.

“BTW, is there any realistic chance of getting CD-3 back in 2020? I’m guessing ‘no’. It was represented by Republican squishes for years — maybe that’s the best we can do here? — but this Karen-heavy district flipped hard in 2018 and Paulsen (~70% liberal RINO) got destroyed by some 100% liberal Democrat.”

I lived in the 3rd for a number of years when I was younger and again more recently. It has always been one of the truly moderate GOP districts. The last three Republicans to represent that district were moderates - Frenzel, Ramstad and Paulson. As sad as it is to say this, you had to be a moderate to win the district.

But in the last 10-15 years, the 3rd was starting to turn purple. Once solid GOP suburbs like Edina and Minnetonka were starting to elect Dems at the legislative level. Even members of Congress like Ramstad and Paulson were starting to see diminished margins of victory. No longer could a Republican win 65-70% of the vote in that district.

There were lots of reasons - Minneapolis residents fleeing the city and moving to the ‘burbs but bringing their BS politics with them, self righteous millennials and Gen X’ers politically indoctrinated in high school and college were now buying homes, etc.

In 2018, we lost about 5 legislators from the 3rd District - even in strong GOP suburbs like Eden Prairie.

Kendall Qualls (a black Republican) has a compelling story and is running a surprisingly well-run and decently financed campaign but I’m afraid this district has permanently flipped because of suburban soccer moms and the detritus coming in from Minneapolis.

We moved away from LI /NY in 2016. Hubby and I were recently discussing the delightful concept of Trump winning NY. What better way would there be to “thank” Cuomo and Blazz!?
It’s a big dream, though!

Great article, Cathi. Thanks for linking. Key excerpt:

“The new buy is going to be a heavy buy. I emphasize heavy,” Stepien said. “You won’t be able to turn on the TV without seeing a Trump ad.”

Trump fell short in Minnesota in 2016 by only 44,000 votes despite not campaigning or spending on the airwaves there. This time around, the campaign says it has 60 staffers on the ground.

I am so sick of this:

If Trump holes a rally in < insert name of state here > then he must be down in that state.

Sounds like the MN gov’t authorities are screwing with Trump’s rally in a big way. I suspect it will backfire.
