However, I think it became apparent to Bobulinski that this was something different and that what the Chinese really wanted was access to the US economy. They were trying to get control of US infrastructure projects.
I think he got nervous about the visible parts of the deal, and then when he found that the Bidens were also going behind his back to get money through deals of their own, he bailed on it and is coming forward now to save his hide.
Does anybody remember when the Chinese were going to take over control of the Port of Los Angeles? The port had been owned by a private company which was then taken over by a state-owned company (Cosco) in 2017. In 2018, they were forced by the US government to sell it because of US security concerns.

I think his first red flag was the China business partner met with Putin to buy 19% of a sanctioned Russia oil company.
0bama gave the Chinese a port in Florida, very close to a naval base.
They are trying to get control of the US - infrastructure projects are just a stepping stone to that end.
