Democrats say they will seek an appeal. They nominated the guy. If you can intentionally or through incompetent vetting, nominate a guy that's not legally eligible, and then there's no harm no foul if it's discovered at a late date, there's no disincentive to do so. In fact, you might do it on purpose. Nominate a ringer, the opponent shoots his wad running against that guy, then substitute a replacement at the last minute. No thanks.

I know the district.
It’s in the Delta centered around Helena. Heavily Democrat and heavily black and pretty poor.
Helena is the home of King Biscuit Time, the longest running daily radio broadcast in American history. Lots of blues music. It’s also the burial place of Confederate General Pat Cleburne.
